I created this blog with the intention of giving a little exposure to all of the music that means something to me. It started mainly as a way for me talk about and share my love for the UK rap/drill scene. From there, I realized that I can expand that include all sorts of genres of music from many different periods of time.
I have come up with a few main points of focus; those being UK Music, American Music, Retrospective/Impactful Music and World Music. The UK, American and World will mostly be focused on current music, and as I get more comfortable with the format and writing in general, I am hoping to keep up with releases as they drop and review them in real time. The Retrospective/Impactful section will mainly discuss artists, albums, and songs that have helped form my specific taste in music, even if they are not genres that I spend much time delving into these days. That does not mean they were not very important to me at one point! That includes various types of rock, indie music, metal, electronic, folk, and of course, rap/hip hop.
So with all of that in mind, any tips and pointers are always appreciated. Comment on posts if you have questions, or are interested in knowing more about any and everything. Share your thoughts! I did not create this in order to simply share how amazing I think my music taste is. It’s quite the opposite actually, even though many articles will be framed within their importance to me, my main hope is to start discussions and expose some amazing music to as many people as possible.
Slight Disclaimer- I do intend for this to be relatively professional, but given the music I’ll be talking about, and my, let’s say, “colorful” vocabulary when chatting in person, expect some less than savory language every once in a while! Sorry Mom!
